Quotes from "Aliens of London"

After a quoteless time here are some from the episode "Aliens of London".

Jackie Tyler: Why won't you tell me where you've been?
The Doctor: Actually, it's my fault. I sort of, uh, employed Rose as my companion.
Policeman: When you say companion, is this a sexual relationship?
Rose: No!
The Doctor: No!
Jackie Tyler: Then what is it? Because you, you waltz in here all charm and smiles and the next thing I know she vanishes off the face of the earth. How old are you then? 40, 45? What, did you find her on the internet? Did you go online and pretend you're a doctor?
The Doctor: I am a doctor.
Jackie Tyler: Prove it - stitch this, mate! (slaps him)

Rose: I can't tell her, I can't even begin. She's never gonna forgive me. And I missed a year. Was it good?
The Doctor: Middling.
Rose: You're so useless.

Rose: She slapped you!
The Doctor: Nine hundred years of time and space, and I've never been slapped by someone's mother.
Rose: Your face!
The Doctor: It hurt!!
Rose: You're so gay.

Rose: When you say nine hundred years…
The Doctor: That’s my age.
Rose: You’re nine hundred years old?
The Doctor: Yep.
Rose: My mum was right. That is one hell of an age gap. Every conversation with you just goes mental. And there’s no one else I can talk to. I’ve seen all that stuff up there, the size of it, and I can’t say a word. Aliens and spaceships and things… and I’m the only person on planet Earth that knows they exist.

Mickey Smith: I bet you don't even remember my name!
The Doctor: Ricky.
Mickey Smith: It's Mickey.
The Doctor: No, it's Ricky.
Mickey Smith: I think I know my own name.
The Doctor: You think you know your own name? How stupid are you?

Mickey Smith: So, what are you doing down there?
The Doctor: Ricky.
Mickey Smith: Mickey.
The Doctor: Ricky, if I was to tell you what I was doing to the controls of my, frankly, magnificent time ship, would you even begin to understand?
Mickey Smith: Well, I suppose not.
The Doctor: Well shut it, then.

(about the Doctor)
Mickey Smith: You look deep enough on the Internet, or in the history books, and there's his name... followed by with a list of the dead.
The Doctor: That's nice. Good boy, Ricky.

The Doctor: Excuse me, do you mind not farting while I'm saving the world?

Series 6 Episode 6: The Almost People

After watching the episode "The Almost People" I can only say that I haven't expected such an ending. Oh my God. I liked this episode more than the one before but maybe I just have to rewatch the other one. The story picked up pace right from the beginning and after a while it's nearly impossible to say who's a Ganger and who's not.
For all the people who don't have Doctor Who on TV you can watch online here.
The Almost People

Summary:
The solar storm is still raging and the Doctor has a Ganger as well now. The Jennifer Ganger plots a revolution because she can remember how often she was destroyed and wants to kill the humans now. The acid fumes in the factory are at a critical level now and everyone will die when they can't get off the island soon. Amy has to deal with two Doctors at once and seems to feel different for the Ganger version. She also sees the eye-patch lady again. Jennifer tricks Rory so he helps her to lock the humans up and get off the island herself. The situation builds up to an unexpected ending for all who are involved.

Letters to the Doctor

I had an idea that different persons write letters to the Doctor. Here is the first one. Enjoy and leave comments. ;)

Letters to the Doctor

Doctor,
Do you love me?
I wanted to have adventures, I wanted to see the universe and then you came along and showed me things which I couldn't have imagined before.
I've seen you in so many different forms, I've seen you live so many lives but I never really knew what I was for you. Just a box that is bigger on the inside? Your transport to the next adventure and the next and the next?
I'm existing in eleven dimensions at once but I never had a voice.
And then I was alive and I could talk to you, really talk to you for the first time. I could express myself and you understood, you understood me. But it was so short, such a short time that I was alive, such a short time we could really live together.
The only things I could finally say after this years were "Hello" and "I love you" and they came from my heart.
Please, don't give up on trying to give me a voice again. I need more time to tell you all the things I want to tell you.
And there is one thing I really want to know:
Do you love me, Doctor?

Doctor Who Spin-offs

I really enjoy the Doctor Who spin-offs Torchwood and the Sarah Jane Adventures.

Torchwood was the only show from which all episodes were shown on German TV. It's at reruns at the moment probably to prepare people for the upcoming new series (Tuesdays 21.50 on RTL2 for those who are interested). I really love Jack in Torchwood but I wasn't that sure about the character when I first saw him on Doctor Who. Well, I guess he's a bit more grown up now. The last series of Torchwood was a bit shocking with so many loved characters dead but it was shown before that the people behind the scenes are not afraid to let main characters die in this show. I think I have to watch the show in English one day to hear the "original" voices but I sometimes have problems to understand strong accents.

I'm still catching up with the episodes of the Sarah Jane Adventures but I have finished watching the first series by now. Unfortunatly there won't be any new episodes except the already filmed ones because the actress of Sarah Jane, Elisabeth Sladen, died recently. It was quite unexpected for everyone and a lot of people will miss her (RIP). I only know her from the newer Doctor Who and Sarah Jane Adventures episodes but I think she was a great actress and really loved her job. It's good that they don't cast another actress for the role because I think nobody would watch the show then. There can only be one Sarah Jane. The Sarah Jane Adventures are more for a younger audience but I think it is fun to watch for children of all ages.

Because of the different spin-offs which expand the Doctor Who universe it never gets boring. I hope there will be a lot more episodes of Doctor Who and Torchwood in the future.

Quote Quiz and Video

First I have the link to a quote quiz for the new series for you. The quiz is from the BBC and you have to answer ten questions about quotes. I think it's quite easy when you have seen the new episodes but it's also fun to test your knowledge.

The second thing I have for you today is a video which a friend of mine made. It's about Ten and Rose. If you speak German my friend would be happy when you visit her homepage.

Series 6 Episode 5: The Rebel Flesh

Another Doctor Who cliffhanger episode. It's already the second in this season. I liked the episode and the idea behind it of copies of people who live on their own but I think "The Doctor's Wife" was a better episode. Hopefully there will be a good finish to the story in the next episode.
And I was right by the way. The Doctor is still wondering about Amy's condition and who the hell is this eye-patch lady?
You can watch the episode online.
The Rebel Flesh

Summary:
The Tardis is thrown onto Earth during a solar storm and the Doctor, Amy and Rory land on an island with an old monastery. They find out that it is a factory under control of the army and that they are pumping acid to the mainland. A second solar storm is coming and the Doctor wants to see their critical system after he has shown the workers his psychic paper. They show him the Flesh which they use to make doppelgangers of themselves because of the dangerous work. The Doctor finds out that the Flesh is alive and warns the people but they won't listen to him and after the solar storm swept over the factory the "Gangers" are suddenly alive and want to stay alive.

The Sands of Time

I stumbled over a Doctor Who novel in Ebook format a couple of weeks ago. It's called "The Sands of Time" and was written by Justin Richards.
The story is about the Fifth Doctor, Tegan and Nyssa. During a visit of the British Museum Nyssa is kidnapped by a strange man and Tegan and the Doctor have to find her. They find out that the kidnapping has something to do with an old Egyptian prophecy and that Nyssa's body is used to bring an Egyption god back to life. While the Doctor and Tegan unravel the plan they also have to avoid seeing themselves during their rescue of Nyssa.
I liked the book but it was a bit confusing in some places because it has a lot of leaps in time and it is sometimes difficult to tell in which time you are right now. But the plot was good and I enjoyed reading it and seeing a different version of the Doctor.

If you want to read this book too, you can go to Feedbooks and download it there for free in different formats.

The changing actors for the Doctor

I think it's a quite fascinating concept for a TV show to invent a charakter who can come back again and again in a different form because of the regenerations. It's something that can guarantee a long life of a show if it's made well.
I only know the three current actors who played the Doctor because I was too young to watch it when it aired originally but I have to admit I like all three of them. Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant and Matt Smith all gave the role of the Doctor a different twist but I think there are also some similarities between the differnt versions of the Doctor.
It's true that David Tennant is the Doctor for most of the people but I think that's also because he played the role for the longest time and we are just so used to him. But also Christopher Eccleston and now Matt Smith play(ed) the role very good and it's just great entertainment.
I really hope the show will continue for a long time but we have nearly reached the end of the regeneration ability of the Doctor. So lets hope he won't change that fast again.

Is Matt Smith...?

I will apologize to the guys who come across this post before I actually start it. You probably don't want to read this. I guess I would be quite embarrassed if I should ever meet Matt Smith in person and he knew I was the one who wrote this. Well know we are getting to my question:

Is Matt Smith still single?
You probably know from that question that I'm a girl but well, someone has to ask this. Matt is really cute and as it says on the webpage Matt Smith's Hair: His "hair is like an elegant ocean wave carved from teak" (By the way, he knows about this page) and I think I agree with that. His hair is really nice and has this "I just came out of bed" style.
I would love to know how much of him is in his version of the Doctor because he seems like a really nice guy. It would be really cool to meet him in real and not only via TV.
And another question is if he is still single? I would love to know that also a bit for myself maybe. He is really very cute and around my age but that will probably only be a daydream. ;)
I guess he is a guy that every girl would love to call her boyfriend.

Quotes from "The Unquiet Dead"

Today I have some great quotes from the episode "The Unquiet Dead" for you.

Rose: Think about it, though. Christmas 1860. It happened once. Just once, and it's… gone, it's finished. It'll never happen again. Except for you. You can go back and see days that are dead and gone, a hundred thousand sunsets ago. No wonder you never stay still.
The Doctor: Not a bad life.
Rose: Better with two.

The Doctor: (to Rose) Go out there dressed like that, you'll start a riot, Barbarella!

The Doctor: Honestly, Charles, can I call you Charles? I'm such a big fan.
Charles Dickens: What? Big what?
The Doctor: Fan. Number 1 fan, that's me.
Charles Dickens: How exactly are you a “fan”? In what way do you resemble a means of keeping oneself cool?

Gwyneth: I’m sorry, sir. We’re closed.
Charles Dickens: Nonsense. Since when does an undertaker keep office hours? The dead don’t die on schedule.

Rose: How much do you get paid?
Gwyneth: Eight pound a year, miss.
Rose: How much?
Gwyneth: I know! I would've been happy with six.

Gwyneth: (to Rose) You’re from London. I’ve seen London in drawings but never like that. All those people rushing about… half-naked, for shame. And the noise. And the metal boxes racing past. And the birds in the sky... no, no, they’re metal as well. Metal birds with people in them. People are flying. And you... you’ve flown so far, further than anyone. The things you’ve seen. The darkness... the big bad wolf.

Rose: You can't let (the Gelth) run around inside dead people!
The Doctor: Why not? It's just like recycling.
Rose: Seriously though, you can't.
The Doctor: Seriously though, I can.

The Doctor: Mr. Sneed, what's the weakest part of this house? The place where most of the ghosts have been seen?
Gabriel Sneed: That would be.. the morgue.
Rose: No chance you're going to say "gazebo," is there?

The Doctor: What about me? I saw the fall of Troy. World War Five. I pushed boxes at the Boston Tea Party, now I'm going to die in a dungeon. In Cardiff!

Charles Dickens: There are more things on heaven and Earth than are dreamt of in your philosophy. Even for you, Doctor.

Charles Dickens: After all these revelations, there's one mystery you haven't explained. Answer me this… who are you?
The Doctor: Just a friend, passing through.
Charles Dickens: But you have such knowledge of future times. I don't wish to impose on you, but I must ask you… my books. Doctor, do they last?
The Doctor: Oh, yes.
Charles Dickens: For how long?
The Doctor: Forever.

Series 6 Episode 4: The Doctor's Wife

Wow, this episode was just amazing. I'm still a bit ... I don't have words for it but it was definitely a brilliant episode and I feel like I want to watch it again. But it was also a bit sad in the end but wow...

Alright, if you've missed the episode or can't watch it on TV you can watch the episode online.
> Watch here <

And now a short summary:
The Doctor gets a distress message from another Time Lord and after following it lands on an asteroid which is outside of the universe. There the soul of the Tardis is drawn out of the box and the power goes out. When the Doctor, Amy and Rory go outside they see that they are in a junkyard. People are living in this place and one of them kisses the Doctor and seems to know him. They bring him to House, a consciousness inside the asteroid but before that he heard the voices of other Time Lords. Are there still some Time Lords out there and who is this woman who kissed the Doctor?

The Doctor's Faith Healing & The Angel has the Phonebox

If you like to read Doctor Who Fan Fiction and also Ebooks then I have something for you. Patrick Mallard wrote a Doctor Who/Buffy/Angel crossover Fan Fiction which is really great.

The first book is called "The Doctor's Faith Healing" and is about the 10th Doctor who is sent to Sunnydale by the Powers That Be to help Buffy, Faith and the others to fight against the First Evil. It seems that one of the Powers That Be has not only the defeat of the First Evil in mind when it sends the Doctor to Sunnydale but also his personal happiness...

The second book is called "The Angel has the Phonebox" and is split into two parts. Both parts play in LA and the Doctor was indirectly sent there to help Angel with his cases. In the first one children fall into a coma after watching the tv show "Smile Time". The Doctor and Angel investigate this case but end up as puppets when they first sneak onto the set. They now have to find out how to reverse their condition and how to save the children. In part two the Doctor challenges Illyria for the fate of Fred's soul and body. Their judge is the demon Sweet and he sets up a singing contest between the two parties to decide who will get Fred's body.

I really liked this two Ebooks and nearly read them at a stretch. It really is a great story and I hope there will be sequel to the books.

Quotes from "The End of the World"

Here are some quotes from "The End of the World" which I really like.

Cassandra: (repeated line) Moisturize me!

The Doctor: You lot. You spend all your time thinking about dying, like you're going to get killed by eggs, or beef, or global warming, or asteroids. But you never take time to imagine the impossible. That maybe you survive. This is the year Five billion...and today is, hold on...This is the day the sun expands. (grins) Welcome to the end of the world

(A jukebox is wheeled out)
Cassandra: And here, another rarity. According to the archives, this was called an "i-Pod." It stores classical music from humanity's greatest composers. Play on!
(Soft Cell's "Tainted Love" starts to play)

The Doctor: You think it'll last forever. The people, and cars, and concrete. But it won't. Then one day it's all gone. Even the sky.

Jabe: Perhaps a man only enjoys danger when there's nothing else left. When you came aboard my scanners identified your species. It's remarkable you even exist.

Jabe: Then stop wasting time...Time Lord.

The Doctor: Everything has its time and everything dies.

The Doctor: There was a war. And we lost. I'm a Time Lord. I'm the last of the Time Lords. I'm left travelling on my own cause there's no one else.

Series 6 Episode 3: The Curse of the Black Spot

I really liked this episode and it was fun to see the Doctor on a pirate ship. For all of you who want to watch the episode online you can do that here.

>Watch here<

Alright here comes a short summary of the episode. If you haven't seen it yet: Spoilers!

Episode 3: The Curse of the Black Spot
When the Doctor, Amy and Rory answer a distress signal they find themselves on board of a pirate ship. The pirates think they are cursed because when a member of the crew is injured a black spot appears on their hands and a being that looks like a Siren takes them away. First they think the Siren only appears when a marked person is close to water but then the Doctor discovers that she only needs a reflection. When Rory is drowning they let the Siren take him and the Doctor, Amy and the Captain of the pirates follow him and the Captains son wherever she brought them to.

How is the bathroom looking?

Have you ever thought about how the bathroom is looking in the Tardis?

Is ist just a normal bathroom where you only have enough space to move around with your elbows close to your body or is it this big that ten people would fit in at once? Will it have a futuristic design or will it look more like the 70s on earth?
I think it looks a bit like the control room, at least the colours, with all the modern stuff you can have in a bathroom and with a shower and a big bathtub. In addition there are big fluffy towels - you should never travel through space without a towel - probably in different shades of green or blue. You will find everything there what a girl really wants to have in bathroom. And maybe there isn't just one bathroom but a lot of them and each on looks differently.
I would love to see some other rooms in the Tradis and not only the control room. It would be fun - at least for me - to have an episode that's just inside the Tardis. Something like a chase of a bad alien through the Tardis where we could see more of the inside of the Tardis.
And I definitely want to see the swimming pool! You hear me Steven Moffat. I want to see the swimming pool!

Quotes from "Rose"

Rose: If you're alien how comes you sound like you're from the North?
The Doctor: Lots of planets have a North!

(Rose sees the Doctor being strangled by a Nestene-controlled plastic arm)
Rose: Oh, you men are all the same. Give a man a plastic hand...

The Doctor: D'you know like we were saying? About the Earth revolving? It's like when you're a kid, the first time they tell you that the world's turning and you just can't quite believe it because everything looks like it's standing still. I can feel it -- the turn of the Earth. The ground beneath our feet is spinning at a thousand miles an hour, the entire planet is hurtling around the Sun at sixty-seven thousand miles an hour, and I can feel it. We're falling through space, you and me. Clinging to the skin of this tiny little world, and if we let go...That's who I am. Now forget me, Rose Tyler. Go home.

The Doctor: (referring to his new appearance) Ah, could've been worse. Look at the ears.

The Doctor: Nice to meet you, Rose. Run for your life!

David Tennant and cake

I really love this video of David Tennant and John Barrowman. It's really cute.

Wallpaper

Today I have something for your eyes. This is a wallpaper I made a while ago. It's one of the newer ones I've made. Happy watching.

Forever

Who was your favourite companion of the Doctors 9 to 11?

I've opened a poll which you can find on the left side of this blog.

I want to know which is your favourite companion of the Doctors 9 to 11?
Most people still see Rose as the only true companion of the Doctor but I think her story has found a good end and sometimes it's just time to move on. I really liked Martha, she brought something fresh to the show. Unfortunately she was only there for one series. Donna was alright but I didn't like her as much as the other too. The new companion Amy Pond is great and there is a big story behind her which still has to be revealed.
I really like Jack and River but I don't have to see them in every Doctor Who episode. It was great that Jack got his own show with Torchwood. The triangle relationship between the Doctor, Amy and Rory is great too.
Well, that's my opinion and I hope you will participate in my poll.

Series 6 Episodes 1 & 2: The Impossible Astronaut & Day of the Moon

If you don't live in the UK, USA or Australia you can watch the episodes online.
> Watch here <
If you don't want to know what happens in the first two episodes you should stop reading now!
In the other case you're welcome to continue reading.

Episode 1: The Impossible Astronaut
Amy, Rory and River get invitations to a meeting in Utah. When they arrive they meet the Doctor who is now 200 years older than the last time they have seen him. Amy sees something during a picnic  they have at a lake but forgets about it especially when an astronaut comes out of the water and kills the Doctor. They meet the younger Doctor at a Diner and can't tell him about what will happen to him in the future. The Tardis brings them into the Oval Office of the White House where they investigate the strange phone calls President Nixon gets from a girl. The hunt for the girl begins and there are still this strange creatures.

Episode 2: Day of the Moon
The Ex-FBI agent Canton Delaware who helped the Doctor with the myterious phone calls has him locked up in Area 51 and is now chasing his companions. He has forgotten what has happend because the Silence erased his memories of it. These aliens have been on earth for a long time now but nobody knew they were there. Now the Doctor and his companions try to unravel the secret that lies behind these strange aliens and what they want on earth.

Welcome

Welcome to my Doctor Who blog.

I am totally addicted to Doctor Who by now which I can only watch online because they just don't show the episodes here in Germany. I don't know a lot about the old series but maybe you can help me out with that.

In this blog I will ask questions which always interested me, give you some info about the show and actors and there will be some polls as well.

Alright that's it for now.
